Born into the noble house of Algerin, Palea has lived the high life in Ebou Dar for all of her sixteen years. She spent much of her time studying the old tongue and ancient history, as knowledge was the correct pursuit of a woman of her prestige. Her life plans changed, though, when her parents were killed by a notorious darkfriend who goes by the name of “The Rapier” when on a mission in Cairhein. Suddenly, the young woman’s life was put on end, her older brother Mathias who had been arguably her closest friend, took off in pursuit of revenge, leaving a fourteen year old Palea to tend to all of her family affairs and hold up the house’s name in Ebou Dar. When approached by Corwin Al’Marr about joining a group that would be hunting darkfriends she jumped at the opportunity to get to travel the world and do good at the same time.

Still, life for Palea hasn’t gotten easily since she left home. Soon after joining Corwin’s party she had a close run in with the man who killed her parents, but she was unable to meet him, or find out for sure who he was. She has her suspicions though, and is pursuing them to the best of her abilities. She soon found herself funding much of the party’s explorations, and also having feelings for the man who had offered her the job in the first place. Corwin and Palea’s love is still young, but it appears to also contain the strength with which to last. Which will be good for Palea, as she recently had to watch much of her home city burn to the ground as a result of the actions of her own party members. Palea is not the most mentally stable person ever, but she tries hard all the same to take care of the men that she travels with, sometimes forgetting that there are times when they could take care of her as well. She still searches both for her brother and for the rapier that killed her parents.
