The older daughter of Emry Al’Sassa, the innkeeper of The Crown and Lion, Kayma at first appeared to be a young beauty looking to sample as many men as possible before settling down to take over her mothers business. She showed some interest in Gareth, and when he did not return the favor, decided to run away to Murandy to become a dancer in one of their infamous taverns. When her mother died in a darkfriend attack on the inn, Corwin sent out men who searched the city of Murandy high and low, to no avail. It appeared that her travels had turned in a different directly somewhere along the way.

The adventurers have recently learned that, against all odds, they have ended up in the same city as Kayma once more. Normally this would allow them to share with her the sorrowful news of the passing of her mother, and the truth that she should return home to manage the inn that is now her sole property. Unfortunately, things are not that easy. Kayma has been captured by the Seanchan and fitted with an a’dam, which the adventurers have begun to recognize as a sign that she can channel. Whether she knew this before she left Caemlyn or not is unknown, but they know that they must rescue her…somehow.
