An aspiring entertainer, Gareth hails from the port city of Bandar Eben in Arad Doman. He was working for a man named Karlin Garr at The Red Bull in Caemlyn when he ran into his old friend Ryall Al’Catharan who had recently joined a group of darkfriend hunters run by a man named Corwin Al’Marr. At first Gareth only wanted to help out by supplying information, but he soon found himself so involved with the party as a whole that he could not turn down Corwin’s formal invitation to join their expedition. And what better chance to entertain than while traveling?

Gareth has recently been working on his first musical work, a ballad titled simply “Kayma’s Song”, after a young woman who he helped to rescue from the Seanchan. It was so well written, in fact, that the King Alsalam of Arad Doman has made him honorary court composer. He hopes to travel the world as a gleeman, spreading happiness through the sounds of his recorder, and occasionally be telling a fetching tale. His friends often poke fun at him for the night that he got drunk and told the story of the Horn of Valor, which involved mermaids, and dragons and lots of other fantastic sights, but no mention of Artur Hawkwing or Bridgette Silverbow at all. He’s also known for his way with the lady’s who like his rich alto voice and good looks.
