A sixteen-year-old woodsman from “Dahlwin’s House”, Caile is an exceptionally good tracker. Little is known about his background; Corwin met him while going to visit his old friend Dahlwin about the quest that he was about to embark on and was impressed by Caile’s knowledge of the outdoors. Caile is known for his literal attitude as well as his strange appearance, all of his clothing was made by his own hands out of animal skins, and he puts up quite the fuss if he is forced to wear anything else. Caile is most at home in the woods, and can often be seen to be pacing like a wild animal if he is forced to stay in a city, or even a large town, for more than a few days.

Recently, Caile has realized his abilities to enter the world of Tel’aran’rhiod, better known to most as the world of dreams. He was made aware of these abilities by being pulled into the dreams of the forsaken Rhavin while he was staying in Caemlyn, and he has since learned some slight control over this ability. Perhaps this is disadvantageous for Caile, though, as the World of Dreams is one more place where he might be able to get himself into trouble. Caile has found himself in a very dangerous situation. While trying to kill Kat-ch, the darkfriend that Caile believes is behind his adopted father’s kidnapping, Caile found himself in possession of the Horn of Valere. He was forced to sound it to save his party from annihilation from both the Seanchan and the White Cloaks, only to find himself in the presence of Graendal two days later. Through compulsion she learned of Caile’s prize, and commanded that he bring it to her as soon as he was able.

There is still much about Caile that remains unknown, his background, how he came to live in the woods with Dahlwin who is not his father, what he will become as an adult, this all remains a mystery.
